Under the art direction of my client, I was assigned a project where I was asked to create a hand-drawn new years greeting useing type and image. the concept was to compose a Chicago twinkling lights sity scape in whch the blufish logo would be seen jumping out of the water trying to catch a morsel of the fine bubbly spewing from the skyscrapers. Note the conceptual elements where I used wine and champagne bottles to accentuate the celebratory nostalgia of the passing of another year.

The image was developed with several proposed type treatments and explorations of the architectural concept. My compositional concepts recieved several rounds of feedback and I worked these solutions into a final rough sketch which I subsequently delivered as painting in ink and watercolor on paper.

I extremely enjoyed this process of creating a specific idea for a client where solutions could be ideated, edited and executed.
